Termination Without Transparency
Pros
Newmark has talented people across the business, particularly at a peer level, and there are opportunities to work on interesting projects with a broad client base. The Business Rates team were knowledgeable and collaborative, and there is genuine potential for ambitious individuals to make an impact.
Cons
My experience deteriorated significantly towards the end of my employment. Role expectations evolved considerably from those discussed during recruitment, making success difficult to measure. Despite receiving positive feedback from parts of the business, I was dismissed without any prior indication that my performance was considered below expectations, no opportunity to address concerns, and no formal performance improvement process. The termination process lacked transparency and communication. Subsequent payroll errors, including incorrect deductions from my final payment that were later acknowledged and corrected, added unnecessary stress at an already difficult time. A company's culture is often best reflected by how it treats people when things don't work out. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.
