Pros

Snacks & Drinks, SOME really great people, fun events (if you don't go, you're frowned upon though)

Cons

Too many cliques, prides itself on being transparent - it's not, Poor management structure, LONG hours - expected to stay super late since they provide such a "hang out" environment.

The Truth About NewsCred

Pros

This is the place for you if you enjoy working in an atmosphere that is like a high school cafeteria. It is easy to get a job here now because so many people have quit.

Cons

Leadership is a disaster. Instead of listening to what customers actually want, which is content, leadership is shifting the entire focus of the business to be on software. Many people spend a good part of their days gossiping about one another, and the CEO and President do the same. The President relies on business books for his ideas. One he likes most talks about crossing the. chasm. But the joke is that instead of. crossing the chasm he is pushing the business over a cliff.

Pros

Hands down-the best place I've ever worked! I joined NewsCred as a small unknown start up and have been on a wild road since day one. The journey has been the greatest part. We've had ups and downs, made mistakes and both pivoted and evolved over the years. With each bump experienced , learnings and insights have followed and all the while we've remained true to our values. The people here care greatly about each other in a way that feels like family. NewsCred values its employees and their needs and is very generous with benefits, policies and perks. We afford growth opportunity to almost anyone who raises their hand and asks for it so it's a place to learn and expand your own knowledge while contributing in a meaningful way. Our clients are venerable brands and our product has grown from inception into a top-notch software platform in a very short time-frame. That is due to the incredible effort and tenacity of the entire company. It's been a rewarding experience to have had a front row seat.

Cons

NewsCred is home to some of the brightest, creative and most motivated people I've ever met. The culture breeds hard work and grit, in fact it's a value that is celebrated here but it isn't for everyone. This is a place where curiosity and tenacity will reward you with opportunity but it's also a place that people may find challenging. Expectations are high if NewsCred is to achieve its goals and there is no room to carry along anyone not aligned or perceived as pulling their weight. NewsCred is very transparent about this. In an effort to reward hard working dedicated employees, there are some young managers who while well-intentioned, lack experience and sometimes cause unnecessary drama but nothing show stopping.
