Pros

-Consistent rewarding and creative work. -Fantastic company culture and coworkers. -Opportunities to learn new skills you never would have been able to, for instance voice acting. -Plenty of support to learn and improve on the job, including frequent meetings with management with constructive criticism on work, how to grow, ect. -Opportunity to learn about the YouTube ecosystem and what it takes to operate successful channels. -Room for growth within the company.

Cons

-Only 2 weeks of paid time off a year, used for both sick time and personal days. These barely cover the roughly 2 weeks of required unpaid time off you are forced to take around the holidays. This results in needing to take quite a lot of unpaid days if/when anything arises in life. You either have no paid days off throughout the year, or get paid for the holiday breaks. -You will be expected to work outside of the scheduled 9-5 Monday through Friday nearly every week. Often with barely any notice.

Best job of my life!

Pros

- Creative Freedom; the teams aren't micro-managed. Though I am making art for someone else's vision, I am still free to make smart choices about the animation and I can truly take ownership over my work. On rare occasions I've even had the opportunity to pitch visual gags during the production phase. - Generous Compensation Package - I never feel stuck doing the same thing. There's always a new trend that comes around, which means new characters to explore - Open Door Communication policy; Upper management is always happy to answer questions and never talks down to me even when I have a concern that seems small or unimportant. When I make a request, and the answer is no, it's clear to me that every consideration was made to arrive at the best solution. - Company has a strong history of making content for YouTube; Newscape doesn't put all their eggs in one basket; I was assigned to one channel, the company stopped making videos for it, and I was simply able to move to another team. Furthermore, it is very hard to find a YouTube channel that does long-form animation content as well as GameToons does. - Videos are uploaded shortly after episodes are wrapped, my work is up for the world to see within weeks or even days for the world to see. - I love rigging in After Effects, and there is no shortage of cool characters to work with.

Cons

- Because YouTube is a much different animal than movies or TV, Newscape does not follow the familiar pipeline, which takes time to adjust to. - Tight Deadlines
