Pros

They pay well compared to other media outlets in the tri-state area, but that can leave you feeling trapped because you know you can't really get a comparable salary elsewhere.

Cons

Poor newsroom leadership. Editors allow their personal drama with each other to interfere with reporters actually collaborating. Most newsrooms encourage teamwork, we're all in this together mindset, not really the case here.

Pros

For those who like local news and the push-pull of deadlines, it is a great place. Colleagues are wonderful. Management is management.

Cons

Salaries are flat. Health care insurance is very costly and eats into salary, even for those with no health issues. Managers are skilled at their jobs, but not in management.

It's the only game in town for daily journalism. My last year was prior to 2011, but Glassdoor didn't allow me the option to go farther back.

Cons

Concentration on clicks, not on work done.
