Absolutely zero diversity at upper levels

Pros

Work life balance, staff who work there (for the most part), stock-options

Cons

I will echo what others have said privately- If you are a visible minority- forget about getting a management or higher position within this org. There are literally NONE. No one, zilch. zero. It looks like you stepped into 1974. They like to pat themselves on the back for having more men than women at the VP level (That's normal). The problem is a lack of racial diversity at the MANAGEMENT, DIRECTOR AND EXECUTIVE AND BOARD LEVEL- there isn't any and one Asian woman doesn't count (who left NexJ in April 2017. I wonder why?). There is no job security. Restructuring happens every few years. The last restructuring process occurred at the end of 2017. There is ALOT of waste. Managers, Directors, and executive team are overpaid. Many are unqualified for their positions and have been handed the job over more qualified people. Lots of ‘more qualified’ people have left NexJ to join its competitors. Morale is very low. Past employee surveys are consistently negative but instead of improvements, people are told to leave if they aren't happy. HR is useless, literally pointless; there have been instances where they actually report what staffs confide in them to the manager (according to recent former NexJ employees).

Thanks for your feedback. As stated by a former employee with more than 8 years of experience, I am honestly taken aback by the negative comments. I hope, and would assume, that you have had some growth and positive experiences throughout this long tenure. As a current female director, I appreciate concerns around diversity. Actually, we have just introduced our new and more diverse Executive Management team. There has not been a restructure in 2017 nor an employee survey which you speak of, and so I encourage you to reach out to me directly so I can address your concerns more specifically. Pros

Not sure how to evaluate the pros of being with NexJ Systems... If salary and benefits value regardless of the cost, then this may be it. However, do ask yourself how much your integrity, sense of worthiness and dignity cost? If you can't put a cost on it, don't bother working for NexJ Systems - find a better place.

Cons

I left NexJ Systems in early 2017. Here’s my personal opinion on NexJ Systems. Remember that employees are treated as disposables, with no respect and/or dignity - hence the high turnover rates... Directors and their cronies run this place and get away with just about anything. All employees are clearly divided into favorites/cronies and ultimate outsiders. If you are not skilled at back-stubbing, snitching and gossiping, this is likely not the most rewarding place for you... Cronies and favorites get cherished, promoted and publicly praised. They can also have the 'privilege' of their own schedule, easy access to Director and travel... Apart from being put down and humiliated (when you are not a crony), you will be roped into all sorts of meetings lasting all day long, with an expectation that you will do your actual work duties at your own time - that is evenings, weekends and often nights, without being compensated for it... If you are dare not to obey that kind of “afterhours” routine, then you will be singled out as an outsider, publicly chastised and ignored all the way. Yes, I have seen this happened. Prepare to be overworked and treated as trash. Your sense of worthiness will plummet and dissolve over time, while the kiss-uppers will thrive in the environment of sheer power game and favoritism. Staff is always overworked and too scared to complain. And who would they complain to? Directors? HR? Senior Management? Do not expect to be heard if you complain, HR is completely unconcerned with the status quo, and do not play any particular strong role in making things right. Directors think they are gods and that they can treat you any whichever way they please... Too, they do the minimal amount of work that will ensure they are keeping their positions, while drawing enormous salaries and benefits. Micromanaging is the favorite ad --- seems the only way of managing people in this place... They give all the lip service about life/work balance and do everything to create exactly the opposite. Plus there is tons of “harsh politics” to get the basic things done and lack of support to those to want to make a difference. Oh, and the town hall meetings... another nice place to get stranded at... you can hear all about how magnificent of a job NexJ Systems does for the banking clients. This is a very sad place to be. If you can help it, avoid at all costs and look for better opportunities out there. I have seen very fine people leaving because they were unable to put up with all this bad stuff that is happening there on everyday basis...

Pros

Pay was average, as were the benefits. You do get to learn a good deal about other industries. Employees include some very highly regarded technical people.

Cons

All divisions of the company are not integrated--you often feel like you are working with a completely different company when you are really under the same umbrella. If you are not an Application Developer or Product Owner, they company views you differently, both in compensation and respect.
