Great People + Bad Management = Burnout

Pros

- The people here are generally fantastic. Hardworking, energetic, friendly, the whole nine. There can be friction between departments, but that's more born of stress than anything else. - The culture committee and employee-run groups are awesome, and a great way to make friends. - Solid benefits

Cons

- Everything - EVERYTHING - in supply chain is recorded and stored and retrieved manually. They've been promising the introduction of a database system for years but have never delivered. So if the supply chain people are stretched too thin (which they always are), it's hard to get information. - Chronic understaffing and constant turnover. Supply chain is always swamped because there's 2 or 3 guys running trucks for the whole company, and sourcing only has 5 or 6, but instead of trying to bring in more people to balance the workload, they lay off MORE people and outsource jobs to Pakistan. - Pay has been below industry for years and it's a constant complaint that management ignores. - Unreliable and inconsistent management. Some managers are great, but they get overworked so their employees can't reach out to them. Some managers are terrible, but they keep their jobs and the employees raising issues get fired instead. - Lack of transparency and communication, especially from management.

Pros

Interesting people and project pipeline, market position (industry leader in the space), drama-free environment, mission-driven, cool offices, and job security. Your opinion seems to matter - there are endless opportunities to improve processes and procedures where you see fit.

Cons

The burnout and employee turnover is real in most of Clean-Energy Deployment. Pay is considerably lower than the industry standard (at least in Engineering and Operations). The company has extremely ambitious goals for growth and does not plan to staff the company accordingly. There is not enough engineering/pre-construction/construction support to meet the Business Development goals the company has. There are constant headaches and overworking, endless deadlines and "urgency" with almost every project. People get burnt out and leave, teams continue to be overworked, and its a never ending cycle.
