Pros

* Free pop machines * Fun for everyone around the office * See many different techonlogies

Cons

*Nobody cares. They act like they care but they do not. *Pay is lower. After leaving the company my pay jumped more than 40% than what I was making at this company. Same location, same state, and same job title. I was also told I did not have to work as hard as previously in this role. Nexient will work you to death and push you to come up with solutions than some of the people in larger companies do not know. its up to you if you want to go through the work and the frustration of this. As well I would like to openly say that there is a big 'clique' around the company. Everybody wants to be buddies, but theres a lot of former managers who will point blame and all when its time for reviews etc. Do not trust them. As well to keep themselves ok managers will shift the blame on their employees and bam fired. Worst company to work for. Time gets tough they are in major trouble. Also everyone smokes I mean its legal in Michigan, but I'm talking about if you don't pass your drug tests they'll still hire you. I know a lot of people who smoke on the job or eat edibles on the job and they are still there just being a QA like I am.

Thanks for posting your feedback. I'm very sorry that your experience wasn't a good one. The issues you describe don't sound like the culture I know and am a part of every day so I would like to understand more. I would value direct feedback from you that would allow me to understand the situation in more detail and identify any areas we can improve. Please reach out to me directly to set up some time to talk. Thanks, Mark

Failed Leadership

Pros

There is nothing great about Nexient other than it's near Detroit, Michigan where there are not many tech jobs.

Cons

Worst company culture. Mark is an unimpressive and failed CEO and he often is worried about getting fired as a CEO rather than showing leadership. As a CEO, he will make a trip to meet manager level employees on his client side rather than empowering his leadership to handle such scenarios. He has hired several wrong individuals as partners and this greatly spoiled the company culture. there are many other good companies in midwest so stay away from Nexient.

I can tell that you are not a VP in our Ann Arbor office based on the way you are using the concept of "failed." Please read "Mindset" by Carol Dweck to get a better understanding of how failure powers learning, which in turn can help you build your leadership skills. If you are a Nexient employee (or former employee), please reach out to me directly to share whatever issues you are seeing (this would demonstrate leadership on your part).
