      Excellent people, questionable practices

      Pros

      Marvelous co-workers! Varied technology experiences are possible, lots of opportunities to change focus. Generally good culture, fun and laid-back with many company-sponsored events. Plentiful opportunities for advancement, up to a point.

      Cons

      Business model incentivizes over-promising to clients and exploiting mandatory overtime to benefit management. A lot of lip-service is paid to quality, but most teams are junior-heavy, leading to mediocre work. Easy to rise to the position of tech lead, but beyond that tends to be non-technical positions. Salaries trail industry, higher rates can be achieved but only by pressuring management. A few toxic higher-level managers run unchecked, burning out developers and tanking projects. Mediocre health plan; disastrous prescription drug plan. No matching investment plan.

      Don't ever recomended

      Pros

      The only thing is good about Nexient is the fun environment and it is flexibility of the hours. Basically everyone is coming and going in their free will as long as the job is done. That is all it matters.

      Cons

      The poor communications between the hiring people, management and staff. I did -5 interviews to get hired and it was clearly for entry level but the day they let me go I found out the position HR put me in was higher level and expectation of me was not what we discussed at the interview .In this company there is no second chances. They did not admit their mistake and let me go for something I had no control over.

      Not much room for growth No Educational opportunities outside client Depending on client long hours with no compensation
