Pros

Overall, this is a GREAT company with an attractive compensation and benefits package. The senior management team works hard and devote a lot of revenue and time into creating an inclusive and diverse environment. Management and staff members care about their teams and strive toward greater process improvements. The company is very generous with vacation and personal time off, incentive packages, and ideas and suggestions for an overall improved work environment. I am happy that I landed here and would HIGHLY recommend joining the NiSource team.

Cons

No complaints or cons that I can identify.

Pros

Nice benefits and 401k match. The people care about each other. Nothing much else to be applauded. The work location is okay and there are many modern facilities.

Cons

Where to begin. There is little to no strategic thinking. Very reactive and focused on executing in operations. Everyone is running around like its a constant fire drill and not focused on the right things. The culture is horrible. There is no communication to front-line employees and everything seems to be a surprise unless you are a manager or above. They get all the information and hold it and use it to provide themselves with power. This was a very "draining" and disengaging experience. I am so glad to be out of this negative and infectious environment. Finally, I will be able to use my creativity and apply my skills where they are appreciated. The Corporate Communications and HR teams have severe leadership issues and gaps. Most of the leaders in these groups are covering things up and don't have integrity or best interests for the company or its employees.

Abusive work environment

Pros

Competitive pay and health benefits. Some flexibility in work hours and locations. Not many other pros to mention at this time.

Cons

People are not treated fairly. I have witnessed and been the target of discrimination and emotionally abusive practices. Upper management protects their own people and ignores and even encourages this behaviour as a way of forcing those they dont want out.
