      Pros

      Family-oriented, stable workplace on the distribution side. Benefits are pretty good with a reasonable 401k match. The operations and maintenance side of this business is run pretty efficiently.

      Cons

      I can't help but feel like I am getting pigeon-holed into a position that really offers very little applicable skills towards any other position, anywhere. Way too many different departments to deal with, which promotes silo building.

      Pros

      Used to be a great place to work until they decided to outsource several departments. The pay was good and the benefits were exceptional pre 2002 when the company was Columbia Gas. It was an employee organization which was big on interaction among employees to get the job done.

      Cons

      They demonstrated how shortsighted they can be when they outsourced several departments then recalled almost all of the departments 2 years later when they figured out how much money they were losing but got stuck with outsourcing of the IT department due to signing a 10 year contract with the outsourcing company.

      Significant financial obstacles and IBM problems.
