Pros

Stable, long term employment, good pay if you understand the system and play political ball. Very large company, lots of jobs across a broad spectrum.

Cons

Bureaucratic, limited upside, unlimited downside. 3% more efficient than a govt agency. Largely not interested in financial efficiency. New ideas are hard to get implemented. Mavericks should apply to companies that cultivate the need for new ideas and approaches.

Pros

Still two work from home days

Cons

- They will draw you in with promises of great pay, work life balance, and a very inviting an inclusive environment, but once you’re in they will show their true colors and you will be sorry to have ever fallen for it. -Management is clueless to what American workers want, you are nothing but a number, and that number is as close to zero as you can possibly get. - constant reorganization of the company mean that even if you do find a good boss, you will probably only have them for about 12 months before they either leave, or you are re-orgged under someone who is two percentage points away from being a sadist. - Toxic work environment, both from upper management, and middle management.

Pros

Full time, Benefits. Despite my misgivings with the company itself, at least in the office setting it is the most safety-forward company I have ever worked for.

Cons

The majority of your calls are from poor and desperate customers attempting to negotiate a payment plan with money they typically don't have, often resulting in disconnection of service due to nonpayment. Being the face and messenger for these transactions tends to wear heavily on one's mental health, especially in the winter. Though they advise their CSRs to "advocate for the customer", as a service provider they are ultimately profit forward rather than people forward. Little room for growth in the office setting.
