Pros

Best reason to work at Nisource is the feeling of helping power customers lives. The mission is to generate and deliver electricity and gas for customers, and I think we do an excellent job at that. Your experience at the company will greatly depend on how you perform, our CEO literally states "pay for performance". Bonuses are available at different percentages for the different roles, however part of the calculation is completely out of your control, so just do your part at the best level you can. Automation is encouraged, recognized, and appreciated. New tasks will replace what is automated, affording new opportunities (caveat emptor) Never a dull week, new projects always coming down the pipeline.

Cons

Top-down demand on return to office, no matter your role or necessity. Butts in seats = old school management. Teammates that moved outside a certain radius during WFH not required to return to office creating an odd team dynamic. Go back to your sad little cube in the open office cube farm only to join virtual meetings with your colleagues who are in other states and countries. In regard to the above pro of "pay for performance", that doesn't mean bonuses coming at you during the year, look forward to maybe 3% merit increase during your yearly review, effectively keeping your earning level stagnant (or lagging) vs. inflation. Too many outside service providers who are good at stringing out their efforts to keep the contract. Please do the needful and revert (those who know, know).
