Pros

Employees are treated as the most valuable assets to the company. Supervisors are respectful and really care about work/life balance. They understand that a happy employee is one that will perform at their best and be a consistent, positive addition to the NightOwl team. NightOwl is supportive of additional employee training. They are committed to having employees gain and strengthen their skills through internal and external training. Generally, NightOwl pays for the additional training. The NightOwl work environment is clean, modern, professional and friendly. Free parking at NightOwl for all employees is definitely a huge bonus in Downtown Minneapolis!

Cons

Health and dental insurance is great, but can be expensive. Company is growing fast and employees wear many hats.

Pros

Company solicits opinions of employees Company values communication to clients Company values delivering a correct product to its clients Company is pursuing a growth strategy

Cons

The company has a culture where it believes it can bluff every hand and believes that no one will ever call the bluff. The company regularly solicits opinions of employees, but disregards opinions that are not rosy. Company representatives take personal offense to constructive criticism about company processes. The company portrays itself as a place where employee growth is possible, but employee growth potential is always based upon capabilities or customers that the company has not yet developed or acquired. The company will consistently represent employee growth opportunities as being just a few months away. A year will pass and the growth potential will still be just a few months away. The company values work-life balance for some employees and disrespects it for most others. Management will become personally offended at constructive suggestions for shift changes to improve work-life balance and team cooperation. The company values communication to its clients, however, communication within the company is terrible. Attempting to raise concerns about communication channels is futile. Management will ignore vital questions, problems, or information; but, management will jump on you for not answering some emails in 15 minutes. Company is not adequately investing in equipment to manage current customers, but pursues a growth strategy. The company's excessive focus on future growth opportunities often creates preventable problems and unnecessary extra work. Company portrays itself to the public as a leader and innovative, but does not value innovative thinking.

Beware

Pros

Hard to think of anything good there.

Cons

Privately owned company that is run by someone who has no business training and no management skills. All upper management is family. Perks go to family members and favorite employees. Commissions are taken from those who bring the accounts in and given to family members/owner. Company fosters a culture of pointing fingers and blaming someone else for things that go wrong. Favorites are always believed and trusted and other people are blamed.
