However, in practice, this message often comes with significant caveats—effectively, “We care – terms and conditions apply.” Employees are required to sign commitment agreements or bonds, regardless of their legality, as management prioritizes its own interpretation of what is “right.” For instance, certain documents issued under this policy appear to be legally questionable. When employees do not accept these imposed “terms and conditions,” they are subjected to what can be described as a hostile work environment that extends far beyond the scope of the original employment contract. This includes requirements such as a six-month notice period and restrictions on taking leave. Such measures, framed as part of a “We care – with a pinch of salt” approach, are strictly enforced by the India Management and People & Culture team. The contrast between the company’s public image and its internal practices is stark, highlighting a significant disconnect between the values it claims to uphold and the reality experienced by employees.
