Pros

You'll meet some great people that you really connect with because of how miserable the work environment and culture is. That will be your saving grace here. Other than that, there isn't a single positive thing about working for this company.

Cons

I could go on for days. I am not one to write reviews but my experience here was so disgusting, that I had to do whatever I could to save people from making the same mistake. I wish I would have listened to everyone who told me to NOT work for this company but instead I wanted to make my own experience. If you love drama, horrible culture, minimum/unlivable wage, insane hours that change every 3 months, no growth potential, no holiday time off, no commission, then this place is for you. You will be worked like a dog here and won't see a penny for it. Instead, you'll see a 50 cent bagel once a month. This company expects you to sell in one month what they won't pay you in 5 years!!!!! I do not know one person who isn't looking for a new job there - all people talk about is getting out as soon as they can. It's without a doubt the most toxic work place that I've ever witnessed and experienced and I'm confident that 99.9% of stylist would agree.

Pros

Not many pros about working here, but the only one I can think of is you sometimes receive free products from designers that come in if they are feeling generous.

Cons

EVERYTHING. This is a sales job and you aren’t a stylist. Working here is like being in a sorority all over again in the most negative way possible. The hours are AWFUL and there’s no work/life balance. Dishwashers at Nordstrom and cashiers at Seven Eleven make more money than you do as a stylist working for trunk club. The sales managers are awful and bully you to make you feel bad every single day. The turnover rate is insane because of how awful the work environment is. TRUNK CLUB IS A MODERN DAY SWEATSHOP. If you like being treated like you’re in middle school, then this is the job for you. If you like never having a day off because you have to clock in from home over the weekends to finish work, this is the job for you. If you like being micromanaged all day then this is the job for you. I’ve worked in fashion my entire life and this job made me never want to work in the fashion industry again. DO NOT WORK HERE.

This doesn't sound like the Trunk Club culture we're trying to build. We are definitely not a sweatshop and we definitely do not tolerate bullying, so if you've experienced something like this please reach out to our HR team directly at HR@trunkclub.com or your dedicated HR Business Partner. We strive to be transparent about the role and responsibilities throughout the interview process and recognize the nature of our work isn’t for everyone. We're sorry you didn't find the right fit here and we wish you the best moving forward.

Pros

Discount, decent benefits, good location in Downtown Seattle

Cons

Workspaces are terrible. When people ask questions about the ongoing Project Triangle effort, the responses are condescending. The attitude seems to be if you don't like it, then leave Too many management levels. The Tech Operating Model was supposed to flatten the Org, but again we have Directors reporting to SR Directors. There are increasing layers between the people who do the work and the VP layer. Very few leaders know the people on their teams. Trust is non existent. There's alot of talk that it's okay to have a production issue, but in reality, you will be called on the carpet and interrogated about what happened and second guessed about any decision you made. Morale is terrible. There are no fun informal events. For example, I did not see any tech areas decorate for Halloween. Other areas of the company decorated and invited people to bring their families in to trick or treat.

Please contact us if you have the time at NordTechFeedback@nordstrom.com. Sincerely, Patrick Welch VP Technology Nordstrom
