Pros

Discount is good and there are some really great and friendly co-workers.

Cons

Will only hire older applicants (50+) for seasonal work so its easy to get rid of them after the holidays whereas younger worker are kept on. Manager will pick on, criticize and talk down to older individuals.

Pros

Best reason to work at Nordstrom is the discount, hands down.

Cons

Impossible to get anything done. Steering committees everywhere. Lots of politics and back door conversations. Lots of old timers who are sitting around doing nothing but collecting a paycheck. Unqualified engineering staff and outdated technology. Lots of "business" vs. "IT / Tech" problems.
