Pros

If you are a positive person and (I must stress this second point) in the correct department, you will do well. If you let your manager and HR know you want to move up in the company they will help you. If you happen to be in a bad-fit department where maybe your manager doesn't love you or isn't too supportive, it won't be as easy.

Cons

During sales and events the hours are ridiculous. There are several black out dates where you can't take off and during those times work extra long shifts with quick (I'm talking 15 minute) lunch breaks.

Pros

Prioritizes promoting from within the company and valuing it's current employees.

Cons

Majority of salary is commission based and that can be difficult to handle if "selling" is not your strongest ability.

Pros

Nordstoms is a good place to work with an affluent client base. Higher end products and advertising and sales to support sales.

Cons

Sometime was difficult to schedule time off and the transition from sales to management could have been made easier through proper training.
