Pros

Competitive pay, nice/easy-going counterparts, good health and benefits package, always opportunity to grow within the company, working with a very team-oriented and well respected franchise that the public loves

Cons

Sometimes quite hostile with maintaining the "Nordstrom" image, younger/less-experienced employees "bossed" around a little, certain sales periods are quite "dead"

Pros

I highly recommend this company as the best retailer to work for in the U.S. They treat employees very well, with respect, and offer lots of opportunities for advancement. I primarily worked behind the scenes and although I knew nothing about fashion, I was able to contribute, learn and succeed. It was an excellent experience.

Cons

The hours are typical retail hours, which mean you do work some evenings and weekends. Other than that, nothing unusual.

Pros

If you can sell you can make a fair living.

Cons

Favoritism abounds. Be prepared to give your life to your work with zero thanks. Store managers are inhumane.
