Pros

Nordstrom, compared to other retailers similar to them provide very good benefits to their employees. I got paid good for being a casheer, and the other people I worked with taught me a lot. The managers are very nice and helpful.

Cons

During holidays and sales the hours are ridiculous. Sometimes I would have to work 10 hr shifts because of how crazy it gets. Sometimes the sales associates can get crabby as well. If you work there as a sales associate, basically your life is working there because you will really have no time for anything else besides trying to be the best seller in your department.

Pros

Free stuff, comission style sales, the company has it pro's like benefits and 401k and profit sharing although they lack the representation to give each employee fair and similar treatment

Cons

Poor managment, favoritism. The company lost alot of its pro's when the economy hit an all time low. Instead of fun contests and energetic leadership the company now has more rules then ever and so many regulations of previous pro's that it makes it hard to enjoy much of the pro's.
