Pros

I thought that they do hire good people. I still am friends with people that I worked with at Nordies. One of the best things was that I loved having the discount. The pay is good too. I will say that if you work in Shoes you can make a ton more money than Cosmetics. Their health benefits were good. If you do good at Sales you can make a good commission. Their customer service philosophy and training I thought were good.

Cons

I would say though that unfortunately I felt that they never really cared about me as an employee and there was a ton of favortism going on. The favortism had nothing to do with performance it was based if the Manager liked you as a person or not. They would never work with your schedule even if you had an emergency come up with a family member which is very frustrating! It also seemed that the managers always got Sunday off yet if you ever inquired about having at least one Sunday a month off they thought you were complaining. I basically liked the other employees that I worked with. I felt that there was no chance of advancing seems that I knew people that had worked there for 10 years and still not promoted. Hmm.. I wish they treated their employees as descent as we were expected to treat the customers. Funny how that was not as important to them.

Pros

Stores are a great environment to work in. The key is the store manager. The tempo of the store is lead by the store manager.

Cons

Some employees dress too casual and management does not address. Need better incentive for merchandise that is returned to be compensated.

Pros

You work hard for your own salary because it is commission based.

Cons

It gets too competitive between co workers. It is really a bad work environment because there is jealousy and hostility towards one another instead of team work.
