Pros

The benefits at Nordstrom are really good. Depending on your manager you can have a flexible schedule. The employees are friendly.

Cons

The customer is always right, as a result you will be treated poorly by some customers. Your salary is tied to your sales/returns.

Pros

Better wage than comperable positions, good benefits, fair practices, open door policy with management including President of company, supportive of employees advancing from within, helpful and interested HR people. Overall a great working environment.

Cons

Perception as an exclusive employer are not completely unfounded. They look for the best people and in this business fashionable is better. Unfortunately in this commision based environment most people don't survive the salesfloor long.
