Pros

Nothing is a pro when working for this company

Cons

The company is misleading by claiming they provide high quality care and care about their employees and the residents and the community in which they serve. The corporate management team is never on the same page-it's always clinical vs financial and it always comes down to the money. How much more money can they save by cutting funding to the poor facilities caring for our frail elders. When they bought these facilities from other companies, the owners, yes the owners when and toured the facilities and promised the moon and the stars to the staff face to face. They promised they would give wage increased annually. That was false! They withheld wages for more than a couple years at many of their facilities. When the facility would ask about wage increases as promised, they would be scolded and told they were being insubordinate. This brought morale down for the facility staff and as a result many great nurses and CNA's resigned and went elsewhere where they would be valued. This caused great angst in the facilities as there is a national crisis for there not being enough nurses and CNA's to hire. As a result, this left many open positions in the facilities that could not be filled. Staff were being forced into being mandated to working double shifts without any incentive as North Shore Healthcare firmly believes that there is no need for incentives-being paid an hourly wage and having a job is their mind set. Many shifts were not covered due to the shortage and the patients/residents suffered by receiving poor quality care. This was constantly reported to upper/corp management and they blamed the facilities---claimed that the facilities must be doing something wrong and that's why employees were leaving. WRONG!!! Exit interviews prove otherwise. The employees despise corp management, the lies, caused them to have great distrust, the healthcare benefits are terrible, the other benefits are terrible too. No 401K match despite promising it within a year....that was 4-5 years ago now. They don't care if employees are forced to work 60+ hours a week stating, "That's healthcare....that's the way it is every where." False!! It is not like that everywhere. At least other companies provide incentives for our poor CNA's and nurses providing care to our frail elders. I could go on and on. I would love to name names but I don't think that would be allowed nor professional.

Pros

Family feeling, caring, competitive pay, benefits, pick up shift bonuses. Great company with room for advancement. They really care about their staff and residents. They make you feel like pet of the family.

Cons

Just like every other healthcare company, they need some more nurses and CNAs but they do well with whats available and go above and beyond to care for their residents and staff.
