Pros

Good benefits, flexible work schedules, wonderful people to work with other than management.

Cons

Technologically behind in areas other than direct patient care; no merit-based raises; management seems unaware of what life is like for ordinary workers. Incompetence does not lead to consequences, and sometimes leads to rewards. There's zero room for growth. It's a behemoth - there's no agility to the organization at all. Organizational change happens incredibly slowly.

Pros

Because the system is so large, there is opportunity to move up and around.

Cons

Management are not the most knowledgable or cohesive group. Most of them do not know how to communicate or manage people. They talk at you not to you. They are trying to change the atmosphere but some people have been there too long.
