      Pros

      Good benefit package, relatively nice work environment compared to nyc hospitals, people are generally nice/friendly to each other

      Cons

      Not an easy commute, but it's not inherent to the hospital. During interview it seemed that hospital campus housing is guaranteed for anyone, which was not the case once we signed the contract. Demanding family members creating defensive medicine culture.

      Pros

      It's close to home and some of the union benefits are good.

      Cons

      Low salaries for union employees and a complete lack of morale. LIJ now has an anti union mentality which makes for a very hostile environment. There is no chance for advancement, top heavy in management, not enough motivated people to do the actual patient care work while supervisors and managers spend all their time in nonproductive meetings.
