Pros

Office setting; nice people, cafeteria

Cons

Overworked and severely underpaid, short staffed for the amount of patients they intake to the program (on the clinician side and administrative), very low pay for administrative workers, little to no real benefits (PTO is not front loaded but trickled in: 1 hour accumulated per pay period - it would take about 4 months to accumulate 1 full day of PTO. Sick time is a similar trickle system so you end up taking a lot of unpaid time until you can’t), due to that it’s impossible to not get burnt out. The union also hasn’t negotiated a good contract if these conditions exist for those at the basic level. Food in the cafeteria is not great and sometimes gives people the runs. Also it’s expensive (full price despite working for the org; they cannot even give discounts which is weird considering how much the CEO makes and how little we do). Feel abandoned and not properly compensated. Deeply exhausted.

Business Outlook

Pros

Talented Resources to work with

Cons

Leadership change with silent layoffs without reason except for mistakes made by previous leadership. Toxic culture with uncertain future. Hostile environments with Management on power trip treating everyone with subtle rejections taking work away whenever they want and releasing dedicated resources

Pros

Diversity job positions and structure

Cons

Toxic elements in the corporate culture of Northwell Health including poor leadership, with a lack of transparency and inconsistent decision-making. High turnover and burnout stemming from unrealistic expectations. A lack of work-life balance can lead to stress, while the toxic hierarchy stifled collaboration. Issues went unaddressed and unreported. There was inadequate recognition and low employee morale. Ineffective communication and cliques of favoritism also contributed to a negative work environment.
