Very ethical company that really does make sure that decisions are based around what is best for the policy owners. A few other pros about Northwestern Mutual are that they offer a pension plan (vested after five years of employment), matching 401K, onsite health clinic (staffed by quad med), onsite fitness centers (at both campuses),
Cons
Some people who are more tenured here take what they have for granted and don't realize how good they have it so any time a change is made they complain. Overall: - I think we need to do better at communicating on a variety of levels. - We need to communicate more effectively across silos - some progress is beign made, but there is still a lot of room for improvement, - getting the input of the right people before decisions are made - we have enough meetings, lets make sure the right people are there, - providing open and honest feedback - we are a "nice" culture - which is great but we can still be 'nice' and give each other honest feedback.
