Attorneys are great - admin, not so much.

Pros

Attorneys are down to earth, smart and hardworking. They succeed despite admin. Firm is focusing on diversity.

Cons

Not the best management. A lot of turnover in the “C-Suite” (and everywhere else except among partners) causes a lot of disruption and morale issues. COO does not leave her office to get to know others and make them feel like they are important to the firm. Managing partner does a little better (as long as you’re considered important enough). Poor communication, no training, no consistent messaging as to how people fit in and what their purpose is. Seems like there is a lack of vision. Seems like a firm of a bunch of practice groups and offices instead of a cohesive group.

Pros

Generally nice people if they’re not a secretary.

Cons

Management pays zero attention to turnover. The word is out there that Nossaman is a place you should not work at. Everyone in this industry knows better. The personalities in high ranking positions are toxic. The culture will not get better and that is largely due to the firms negligence, they can’t see past the titles. Too many cons.. IT needs to learn that their trainers act like they’re doing you a favor when they’re asked to their job, accounting can barely function as a department and BD is a huge department that are full with people that are “too busy” to do anything. This place is a revolving door. Also, how can anyone have faith in a firm that can’t keep/hire a CFO??

Stingy on bonuses and retention. Phony, self-serving partners. Pervasive culture of fear. The firm is in financial trouble.
