Although I can't comment on individuals terms for separation, I can confirm we have never let anyone go for a accidental date discrepancy on their resume. We do run background checks on all new employees. We are also a very ethical company and value honesty.

Pros

Friendly, fun, sociable coworkers. Laid-back work environment. Potential for flexible hours and locations. New projects every few months. Great place to get exposure to various technologies and business practices. Santa Barbara has wonderful weather. They have a pool table.

Cons

IT culture only adds frustration and inefficiency to development, resulting in a goldmine of software engineering antipatterns. Hesitant on using anything remotely cutting edge, instead opting for legacy or vender solutions. If it isn’t obviously and catastrophically broken, don’t fix it. Skimps on resources needed to get job done. Company nonessential employees are treated as disposable and paid as such. Seniority is far more important than correctness. Huge talent vacuum in mid-senior positions; it’s very rare to have a mentor or team lead, even rarer for them to actually mentor or lead. Completely reliant on senior management to get work. Usually only paid when there is project billing, but management expects extra unpaid hours put in building the business. Don't get fooled by the 'Developer' title – you’re still mostly doing enterprise IT or vender work.

Pros

no discrimination, mostly nice and cool people, can go to work with casual clothes, big free parking lot, located above Urgent Care, have well known customers

Cons

- they use different SIEMs but teach you only LogRhythm 90% and Splunk 10% during the first 3 weeks training - they like to cherry pick people with Security+ at minimum and preferrably someone close to college graduation or already have a degree, yet the pay is 50% lower than the average pay for the same position at the other companies in the same city - understaff most of the time so expect to work constantly without having a room to breath, don't want you to get OT as much as possible even though they want you to have no coverage gap in monitoring if you don't have lunch buddy to monitor in your place - people quit fast because they got a better offer elsewhere a few months after joining, some people get promoted fast and some not, still bad salary even with the promotion unless you make it to SOC Lead or SOC Manager which nobody will get unless you have work more than 1 year at minimum there - they have pets in the office which I don't think it should be in the professional environment since they are not disability supporting pets, the cat will try to eat or steal your food without your permission, the dog will bark, both of them are cute tho, I know other employees saying pets are nasty and inappropriate for the office
