Pros

Training is excellent for using Epic EHR Adequate time is given to learn system and build patient lists. Support staffing is adequate and leadership is knowledgeable. Competitive salary is offered with guarantee and great benefits.

Cons

There is too much emphasis on Press-Ganey scores and eagerness to believe what patients write instead of the physician; anonymous ratings give no means of analyzing feedback and is unfair. Patient load requirement is impossible if one desires to maintain salary guarantee after it expires. If something new is desired for practice, bureaucracy will make it almost impossible to achieve in a timely manner. There are too many physicians in various leadership positions who hardly practice anymore while the company is not doing well financially overall and cuts are being implemented.

Pros

They truly do put the patient first, and it’s great to feel like you are making a difference even as a nonclinical employee. I would return for the right role!

Cons

Our team underwent a restructure and wound up with some unfavorable changes. There also aren’t many merit-based opportunities for advancement.

Pros

Some good people, very good quality healthcare for patients, fast growing organization, generally well respected in the industry.

Cons

Extremely stressful environment, right hand often does not know what the left is doing, communication is very challenging. Some aspects of the medical group's clinic culture are quite toxic and leaders have very unrealistic expectations. Like most organizations, success and satisfaction with work will depend upon what team you are on and who your supervisor is. Incredible amount of unnecessary meetings makes getting things done very difficult. Entirely too much micromanagement from multiple clinical leaders creates difficult and stressful work atmosphere. A real problem of distrust throughout the leadership group. Cut throat stab in the back leadership that burns their people. Very real (and voiced!) culture that you must conform to the Novant way or you do not fit. They talk of diversity, acceptance, individuality, inclusiveness, etc. but at the end of the day the only thing that matters is the bottom line. Must walk lock step and conform in speech, style, behavior to what they want or you will be gone. By far the most miserable and sickening and stressful environment I have ever seen or heard of. Many unhappy doctors and clinic managers. The company leadership dyad model has the physicians running the place which is not working. Clinic senior leaders treat team members as a number instead of respecting them.
