Pros

Freedom to work on the things you want to. Decent pay. Afforded flexibility when I need it. Great people in the mill that just want to do the best thing.

Cons

Health care plan stinks. You have to believe in the new doctrine to be promoted. This involves saying the right things but has nothing to do with what you know or how well you do it. They have found more ways to promote the most inept individuals I have ever been around. It is really quite sad. Our new hiring practice is horrible and we keep getting worse and worse people to replace some very frustrated good people because of bad management choices

Paid off of production bonus which ups the paycheck a lot some weeks. For being a steel making company the safety margins are kept very well in the positive. 4 days on, 4 days off

Cons

Rotating shift work with 12 hour shifts, working in/around heat often.
