Pros

Not that I could think of now

Cons

Disclaimer: This is a post written on behalf of the employee Work-life in many places: Work normal 8 hours Work-life in Silicon Valley: Work the 8 hours + answer a few requests and check emails after dinner Usual Work-life in Nutanix: Work >8 hours + keeps working fanatically after dinner till bedtime at 1 AM. Not so Usual Work-life in Nutanix, but seems soon to be a norm: Work >8 hours + keeps working fanatically after dinner with NO bedtime With that being said, lunch time usually scheduled with meetings or for catching up works seems not quite worth mentioning.

Not a welcoming environment

Pros

Progressive company, definitely on the fast track. Everyone is excited about the technology. At the lower levels of the organization, there is sense of unity and teamwork. Good benefits.

Cons

Not a welcoming and nurturing environment. The CEO is very humble, human, and positive. He attempts to distill that throughout the organization, unfortunately in many departments it doesn't trickle down through the executive chain. In many departments the upper management motivates through humiliation and fear vs. positive reinforcement and guidance for improvement. Executives micro-manage and don’t provide clear view of the overarching strategy for the organization. As with many start ups, clear communication/guidance around roles and responsibility, processes, and change management have not been established. The work life balance is heavy on the work end due to inefficiency and blurred lines.

Pros

Platform is good, works as advertised and designed by prior founding CEO and product teams.

Cons

New senior leadership since Bain Capital took over the reigns, they are terrible. They have no regard for employee welfare or their personal quality of life. I watched leadership time and time again betray employee trust, not follow through on compensation plans when employees over exceeded goals and they are morally bankrupt as human beings and leaders. I left the team as one their Top 5% performers.

Thanks for your feedback. We strive to provide a great experience for all our employees, and to live our values: hungry, humble, honest, with heart. We understand this wasn’t your experience and we’d welcome the opportunity to learn more. Our leaders play a big role in shaping the experiences of employees. We strive to continually develop our leaders through a variety of learning and enablement channels, while also monitoring our employee engagement surveys to help us identify and address issues that employees raise. Our sales plan was designed to be clearly defined and to offer tremendous upside to our salespeople positioning our full software stack. It includes an escalation path and official review when questions around plans and payments are raised. We’d welcome a conversation to get more context from you. Please reach out to hr@nutanix.com to set up a conversation with someone from our People Team. Thanks and we hope to hear from you soon.
