      Pros

      -Culture. Such a cliche term, but the people here are genuinely good people, working together to disrupt the IT industry. Not a cut throat environment, we’re all pushing in the same direction. -Challenge. If you love to be stretched, challenged, trusted, pushed to your limit then you’ll thrive in this company. -Compensation. Pay is competitive, benefits are covered 100%, stock and ESPP give an added bump. -Management. There are some really good managers and mentors at Nutanix, if you’re aligned to them then you’ll love your job. The executive leadership of the company is 2nd to none.

      Cons

      -Culture. If you want structure, clear growth paths, to move up the chain quickly and your value is based on your title and praise... we’re not there yet. Everyone is so focused on getting the work done that we don’t spend a lot of time on employee recognition and development. Career growth and development are pushed by HR but their not structured or adopted enough to be mainstream. -Challenge. The fast pace and demand is not for the light hearted. If you thrive in that type of environment you’ll be happy here. -Management. There are a lot of team managers who are stronger individual contributors than they are managers. Advice: really do your homework on who you’ll be reporting to and what their management style is.

      Bait and switch - be careful

      Pros

      You will get decent work and learning opportunity (if you get time), and that is about it on technical side. On the other hand, you will get a good crash course on dirty politics, hypocrisy and biased views, which will indeed make you stronger for your next venture.

      Cons

      To begin with, recruiters of the company will lure you in with rosy promises with sky high stock valuations, and you will realize the blatant lie soon enough. Now you are inside the booby trap of incessant false promises, where you will be treated as second class citizen while you slave you day away. This is one of the most opaque company I have seen, where starting from my immediate group till the top of the management chain, it is so bureaucratic that no one knows what the person one level up is planning to do. You will find preach and claim of honesty, but dishonesty is in the blood of the company, and recruitment department takes the throne there. The IT department is the laziest I have seen.

      If you are a money earning sales person, be extra careful considering Nutanix

      Pros

      Great product, leader in the space in the direction the market is going. The company is a rocket ship of potential that is changing the Enterprise compute, storage, virtualization space in dramatic ways.

      Cons

      Sales people across the board are not nearly making OTE!!!! The company is massively over highering, constantly increasing goals, constantly changing territories. 30% to 50% under goal attainment is common - broad based under achievement. Management acts like they are concerned, and says the right things, but the actions don't follow the words. The senior sales management is inexperienced and immature in many regards, creating a quiet but negative feeling among the sales people. Attitude of management is "if you don't like it here, leave" - a term first used by the President and head of sales, and heard often from the managers underneath him. The stock lock up / vesting is holding a lot of the sales people there for now. The company defines its culture as Hungry, Humble, Honest. Humble and Honest are not even close to being true; a nice thought, but not true.
