Pros

Flexible work from home policy (that may be changing soon), good pay, 9% 401k match, 12% targeted bonus

Cons

Leadership changes frequently which causes shake ups for many teams, but my team has so far been uneffected

Pros

* Great opportunity to get an IT role you are probably not quite experienced enough for yet. * Lots of IT opportunity, if you are able to acquire the budget and just do all of it yourself. * If you are a Crop Consultant and just want to be selling in a car with a piece of paper.

Cons

* Very political environment. * Leadership does not understand nor care about IT or any data/technical role. * More tech debt than any place you will find * Leadership is made up entirely of Agricultural folk and many high level leaders question the value of even the most foundational technical systems * IT Leadership is made up of careerists who always say yes, thus foundational IT systems are garbage and requirements are always shifting. * Pay is lower compared to competitors, results in the vast majority of IT folk being more novice, further perpetuating tech debt * I am in data, we have been trying to get a basic sales tables for over 5 years with over 400 hours of meetings. The basic requirements have still not been met. * No data catalog system or documentation systems, knowledge of systems are entirely based on seniority of having worked with them and failed historically. * IT lacks business analysts, resulting in almost no actual IT development designed or considered by people who both understand the business and IT. * While Corp. is trying to focus on diversity & inclusion, in the field and up to Sr. Directors, you will hear a lot of racist / discriminatory / questionable things. * No meaningful mentoring or training opportunities. * IT workforce largely made up on contractors due to all of the above issues, resulting in constantly changing landscape that compounds all above problems.
