Pros

Nutrien is made up of smart hard-working individuals with a stellar focus on safety.

Cons

Organization struggle with lack of direction. Communication strategy internally is very positive and rah-rah with no insight to how decisions are made, changes in strategy or key knowledge needed by employees. Small teams have great leaders and management but there are a lot of starts and stops in determining overall direction.

Pros

People I work with at site, that is the only reason for a 4 star rating. With out that we are a 2.

Cons

Since the inception of Nutrien a serious disconnect has developed between site and the rest of the company. Trying to make a global "one shoe fits all" corporation has taken the company backwards. While Nutrien has rebranded some legacy PotashCorp facilities and events it has contributed very little to the local area. Removing AP, HR and trying to globalize and direct from corporate offices who knows where has been frustrating for our local flavor in the community. Rocanville Mine was once the shining star in our community, supporting and participating routinely in the community. Now local vendors go months unpaid, small businesses are carrying Nutrien on their back, not the other way around like it used to be. The local flavor for hiring good resources has to go through a hiring process of somebody disconnected from our geographic region. Employees of Nutrien hear this and feel this in their communities. We see and recognize we are excessively overstaffed in corporate facilities and understaffed at sites where we need help to produce the commodities that keep us viable as a company. Instead to much of our shared costs are to support job functions that provide little support to those that pay for them. This business model is doomed to fail, I just hope it's realized before it's too late for this company. Nutrien has taken us backwards from where we once were with PotashCorp. The only thing we have left are the people who work within our own gate and support each other while watching this company fail around us.

Terrible Corporate Culture

Pros

Good pay but very overworked

Cons

Toxic corporate culture. The Human Resources department makes hypocritical decisions and doesn’t hold its own team accountable. And if you are an ethnic minority there is no chance for advancement.
