One of the best small contracting firms in DC.

Pros

I've worked at 5 contracting companies in DC, and I can say that OBXtek is one of the best. They are always up front about the option year transition, which is great for peace of mind. I travel a lot and their process is very straight forward and convenient. Pay levels are above average, and they have been flexible with leave and telework options.

Cons

I wish the offered Metro SMART benefits, but many of their contracts are out of the DC area. They are a relatively young company, so certain policies and SOPs change more often than I'd like.

Great Place to work!

Pros

They really care about both the people that work for them as well as their customers. They allow the right balance of self-governance and management. That way you don't feel like you're being micro-managed and you don't feel like your all by yourself and isolated. Easy to schedule time off and vacations.

Cons

I would like to see the amount of time one can carry over in PTO increased. Currently its a good amount by should be higher. Also, I would like to see the 401K vesting happen on day one instead of later.
