Supportive colleagues but management is out of touch

Pros

Great colleagues who are smart and nice. Main customers are libraries so you feel good about providing services for them.

Cons

Upper management is out of touch and reactive. Employees are doing more work because of layoffs and afraid to leave desks because they don’t want to be laid off next. Benefits like instructor led exercise classes are gone because they laid off that person along with many others in 2025. Career opportunities are slim because positions were eliminated.

Good culture and meaningful work. I enjoy my job and have time for my family. Nonprofit company is able to make decisions that make sense, rather than try to appease shareholders. High job security.

Cons

It’s hard seeing other jobs I’m well qualified for paying 20-50% more.
