Pros

Great place to work when I first started.

Cons

Not the company it use to be. Too much has changed and not in a good way.

Pros

I enjoyed the crew that I worked with on a day-to-day basis.

Cons

Management has no idea what's going on within the business. There is so much employee turnover occurring internally, and yet management doesn't seem to understand the root driver of this issue. You will not be given fair opportunity to interview for positions that might interest you. If HR doesn't see that you're "qualified" on paper, they won't pass your resume on to the hiring manager even if the hiring manager knows you're applying and thinks that you might be good fit for their department or branch.

Pros

ORNL FCU is going through a rebirth of sorts. The new CEO is far more personable and engaged than the last. Reorganization is happening. Opportunities for employee engagement and growth are exponentially growing. It's an exciting time for many but scary to some who have been through the enormous changes of the last few years. Yes, HR is strict, but in every past job I've ever had HR has been the party-pooper. My sister works in HR and through her I now fully understand the importance of imposing strict rules. Apparently, having the EEOC after you isn't cool in the HR world.

Cons

Pay needs to be more competitive. We are losing key players that we have invested thousands in over a few dollars. Recognition and promotion of high performers is expected at a must faster pace for millenials. It will be difficult for many decision-making baby boomers at ORNL FCU to understand and acknowledge this. But it is crucial.
