Poor leadership that loses culture at department level. Will not consider applicants without a bachelors degree for a professional position...even with applicable direct experience. Will slam in policies with little communication between departments.

The real power in the unit I was in is with the credentialed instructors, who are experienced, knowledgeable and hard to get rid of. Management is fairly new and inexperienced. The key to success is to have the support of the key instructor in the subject area in which you are assigned. My assigned key instructor took an almost instant dislike to me, initially based on not being included in the peer interview I had with other department instructors, and went from there. My accomplishments were minimized, if not totally obfuscated, and my mistakes were amplified and distorted. My meetings with management were dedicated to addressing the reported distortions and responding to gaslighting attempts with facts and truths. My queries to the source of these distortions was always met with denial, but the untruths continued. Management was complicit in the situation by buying into the distortions and disbelieving anything I had to say or demonstrate.
