Pros

Compensation is alright. Plenty of opportunity for OT right now due to staffing. My manager seems to be nice and understanding about things, but can’t seem to do much because there are so many people over her head that have more power (and don’t understand the reality of things).

Cons

Poor morale. Constantly short staffed. Micromanaging is rampant. They keep adding more and more upper level management positions that aren’t needed. Unfair policies regarding PTO/Sick Time. Rigid attendance and tardiness policies that leave no room for extenuating circumstances or situations. Poor work-life balance. Catholic beliefs dictate what care their employees can receive under their health insurance. They do not value their employees even if they say they do. Will do anything to make sure they are giving to smallest raises possible and say they don’t have the money to afford to pay their employees bonuses, yet they keep building new, fancy facilities. The overall obliviousness of upper management to the problems that go on in their facility and their employees job satisfaction. It does not feel like they are trying to improve anything at all, just trying to make more money at the expense of employees and patients. If you take a sign on bonus and leave before the agreed upon length of contract, taxes are taken out, but you have to pay back the FULL amount. They make things seem really great when you interview/get hired/go through first week of orientation, but then you are trapped for two years and things are not like they made them seem. Will not recognize domestic partners or same sex partners for benefits. Hides behind their religious affiliation like that automatically makes them an honest, caring healthcare organization, but it is all a front.
