Neglected Company with huge potiential gets a little more heartbroken every day.

Pros

Flexibility with hours, locations, and resposibilities are a few reasons. I have never been denied a transfer or time off, unless of course it was around a black out retail holiday like Thanksgiving's Black Friday. Company with good and hard working retail workers.

Cons

No communication with corporate office from Retail Stores. No feedback is requested from stores on real issues. Tired programs getting pushed on tired customers. Failed business plans are continuously pushed, like Market Basket, TIPS, X-Pert, Stop the walk, 10X12, Rewards, and just about everything else. Good work is not rewarded, and the company is so PC that slackers and underachievers get the same results as performers and overachievers. Retail stores are being choked to death by corporate programs that are not successful and anger customers.

The stock options were appealinging until recently. The people at office depot are hard working folks. The atmospher and culture are okay. The new office faciltiy is great and management is trying to recover from the tarnished image of hack saw. Since the headquarters are locate in florida most vendors want to visit so travel is limited. Work hours are flexible and weekend work is not required.

Cons

Lack of communication form management. Advancem,ent opportunities limited

its a job that barely pays enough for a single person to live on.

Cons

upper management is incompetent, distant, uncaring, and way way way overpaid! this is and has always been a reactionary company NOT a proactive company. most of the things they do or implement are stupid, poorly thought out and a waste of money and resources. i wish staples would just buy us out so this nightmare can end!
