Pros

No one should work for them. You have to fight for every dollar that you make there. They make knee jerk reactions to everything. That is why they have been struggling for the last 10 years. They change compesation structure every year and promise a more simplified approach. All they simply is for them to screw their employees out of more money.

Cons

Poor Management, bad structure, too much greed in OD. The company will be done after 09. They are already down 25% this year. They will make another cut by mid-year and either sell the company or go belly up by year end.

Pros

Office Depot, has some very good employees, who make great loyal friends

Cons

Management is dishonest. The CEO is rated the worst CEO in America by several rating services. Stock is suffering! Staffing and customer service is now horrible! Employees are pressured to make unethical decisions with customers to improve profits. Every year under CEO Steve Odland, the coporate culture puts more and more emphasis on greed generated decisions, without any regard for ethics or morals. Think of Steve Odland as the Bernie Madoff of the Office Products Industry. If Office Depot survives through 2009, I would be suprised. This is not a company for anyone with ethics to work for.

Pros

Great co-workers, flexibility to create your own schedule.

Cons

POOR management. Constantly changing the focus, always adding more to-do's to your list with no recognition for the time required to complete. Managers not consistent with follow through and never held accountable. Un-necessary training that would take up days at a time, wasting good selling time! There was no recognition except for the same few people all the time. Management would constantly be-little and make the same people feel de-valued on a consistent basis. No cpmpensation for home office costs, even when you are required to work from home.
