Pros
Benefits are top notch as expected of a public employer. Many of the people who work here are knowledgeable and passionate.
Cons
I would often see multiple coworkers stay an hour or more later as if this was expected, even having a manager admit most work more than 40 hours. While on leave for worsening mental health there was a paperwork issue with my return to work date, instead of my normal contract the head of HR called me in what seemed to be an intimidation tactic. They would also contact me weekly or more despite having no additional updates to my status. Multiple requests for clearer deadlines went ignored. Going so far as having management decide times up and starting a call despite having no idea it was taking too long. Management straight lying that I was being intentionally dishonest and manipulating results despite this offering zero benefit to me nor fitting my character. In several lawsuits of discrimination their legal defense seems to be we don't have to follow ADA or we're immune to being sued as a state entity. Months after having a family member pass an email went out asking for donations for a funeral for someone else's family member, I was neither given the option or made aware that was an option.
