In the last year or two, our leadership team have been tasked with some pretty hard challenges yet they always keep the employee's best interest at heart. My plant manager is truly inspirational, she is the glue that holds everything together. She is as level headed as they come, she is a natural leader and works very hard to keep our plant running at peak levels while being empathetic to employee's needs. The top line managers are very passionate about the business and making an impact in the hydraulics world, its contagious in every aspect of the business. They say, it must come from the top down and it truly does when it comes to the passion. I could go on, but I think you get the picture.
Cons
To be honest, where I'm sitting there aren't many cons to recognize. There was very hard business decisions that had to be made in 2015 that included the shut down of the Milwaukee plant. A legacy that had been in Milwaukee since the early 20's-30's. Never once did Management take that decision lightly, in fact we offered relocation packages to many employees and generous severance packages. Although we can never truly do right by the employees with 30+ years of service to Oilgear, we try to continue that legacy despite the relocation of Headquarters to Traverse City, MI through our commitment to the quality of our products and the dedication to our employees worldwide.
