      Great company if you're not in sales

      Amazing product, amazing vision, amazing people.

      Cons

      Do not value salespeople. No stock. This year, no RSUs allocated even for top performers. Executive vision is that "salespeople have the opportunity to make a lot." Well, virtually EVERY other peer company has decent RSU packages. Makes it very hard to recruit, and makes salespeople apt to leave at the drop of a hat. Top management does not value salespeople or sales managers. With no 401K match, no RSUs, what are salespeople to think? Executive team even decided that for this FY, there would be no stock allocation for anyone in sales. This is 100% contrary to what I was told during the hiring process.

      Pros

      Good product, solid co-founders Okta does an excellent job of employing the mindset of "it takes a village" to win deals. Has the benefit of being in upper right Gartner MQ (now along with Microsoft & Centrify) Decent benefits IPO bound

      Cons

      Lots of management changes lately which has affected morale on sales team Very cliquey...rampant 'tech-bro' sales team If you join Okta, you'd better hope you have a good territory as certain territories continually struggle (and get smaller due to over hiring of reps) to make quota and deal with a revolving door of sales reps. If you want to work at a company that follows a strong micro-management style, then by all means, send your resume in. Tired of the two slides that the CRO shows at each qbr; Vince Lombardi and Navy Seal team slides....seriously, please come up with something more original.

      Many old school incompetent who sit on positions along with their old buddies and not doing what will move the company forward. Getting rid of hard working people to save the talentless executives' behinds. CEO still doesn't know what he is doing and thinking the stock price is the indication of smart decisions. Sigh... NO upwards opportunity. You've got to have worked with someone in the past companies Every few months benefits keep getting cut Every year things get worse No much good outlook for this place
