Pros

At Okta, you have the rare opportunity to work for a product leader in a rapidly growing market. The drive to execute that vision is not easy. Competition is fierce and being the leader means you're in everyone's crosshairs. Inherently, that position comes with change and with change you either learn, adapt and push forward or you don't and move on. Recent reviews here would suggest a dramatic turn of events impacting culture, work life balance and overall job satisfaction. I believe the opposite to be true. I'd say that recent reviews are the direct result of the controversy and challenges that surrounded those who are no longer here. Their exit, while painful for some, ultimately has enabled impacted groups to move forward. Okta is led by exceptionally competent leaders. Todd is very down to Earth and very transparent about what is working and what’s not. He has a vision and we continue to execute on it. The passion for customer success is broadly felt. There are the other perks, food, lunch M/W/F, beer. Like so much in life, working at Okta is what you make it. If you thrive on pushing yourself, want to have some fun while doing it, enjoy competing in a difficult market and want to invest in a platform and product you believe in, you’ll do fantastic here!

Cons

Rapid change has clearly been tough for some. Other than that, the cons I can think of are few. Better rotation on snacks perhaps? It will be nice when the two buildings are connected.

Pros

Okta is a truly great company; a leader in the IDaaS space with thoughtful executive team and truly intelligent people trying to be the best they can be. There are free lunches on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, all hands to share the company happenings, and well stocked kitchens. This is a place to work if you want to execute on things. It's a bit more bureaucratic that many other companies of it's size, however, a good business case goes very, very far with this group, which speaks to the more "adult" approach to business than you'd find at many tech companies in the Valley.. The CEO is pretty open-door and seems very engaged with the business and employees. Overall, the pros are solid perks, and really healthy business, and an engaged, professional approach to work.

Cons

Managing change and transition is difficult. I am not sure the people piece of this is being well managed at all times, but it's not due to lack of effort. Okta is still growing quickly and as anyone in tech knows, the people who are right from 0-100 employees, aren't always the same employees to get you from 100-500, or from 500-1000....I think Okta is at an inflection point where some (I wouldn't say many) legacy people are leaving because they simply aren't the right people to drive the company forward anymore and this creates unnecessary concern for many remaining employees. There are some negative Glassdoor posts that reflect this which is unfortunate because Okta is a genuinely great place with a good heart and amazing technology.

Pros

There is opportunity! Good benefits, lots of perks. There is a lot of work as we continue to grow as a company. The CEO is awesome and a lot of the other C- Levels are down to earth. There is a lot of cross functional work happening which provides a lot of exposure to people and experience. A lot of departments are growing and we have a great technology that continues to help us lead the market. The work is fun and the people are great. Best decision I have made so far and I say that every time someone asks. There is always going to be change. Change helps us to evolve and grow.

Cons

There's always room for improvement- the growing pains of a startup. On the plus side of this- people will learn a great deal in this environment- as long as its going in the right direction.
