Pros

Employee discount is nice - 50% off regular priced items Generous PTO One weekend off a month for FT employees Easy work

Cons

- The pressure GAP puts on the employees to force credit cards on customers is absolutely not okay. I had a Lead tell me "Those who don't speak English are the easiest to get". I felt somewhat bad for the managers because if they didn't get a certain amount of cards within the day they would have to get shamed by the district manager the following morning in a required meeting. - They make you chase customers around the sales floor trying to get Credit Cards or sign up for the loyalty program - Which to me is very inappropriate and annoying to the customers. - The company seems very "Money Hungry" overall which is disappointing because I have had a lot of fun working at my Old Navy. - The schedule is retail, so lots of mixed days and nights. Makes it very hard to balance work/personal life/ self care/ school/ family. - Pay is low and not competitive. If you're not concerned about $$$ and just want to work somewhere for fun, this is the place for that. - No yearly bonus or incentives

Pros

Great benefits - medical dental etc. Salary is good and appropriate Bonus is good

Cons

Out of touch with reality - extremely high expectations which is fine however leadership is a group of problem spotters and not problem solvers. Payroll has been cut to offset expenses such as supply chain issues; Brand/Corporate goals are only the "starting point" so if you meet the brand goals, you are not meeting expectations, you are just doing your job. You must exceed brand goals by 150% or more to be considered meeting expectations. This may be a regional expectation. There are 4 regions in my territory and there are 3 territories in North America/Canada.

Pros

The only pro to working for this company is the 50% discount on regularly priced items.

Cons

Management acts like children. They will make fun of other employees behind their back. They choose to sit in the office and complain should they be called to the floor for something they act like it is such a chore. They will force down your throat that you need to act agressive to the customers when asking them to sign up for the credit card and navyist loyalty program and act like you are not trying when they see you talk to customers. The amount of times I have seen a manager tell a new higher that if they don't get a single ONC or Navyist they can be fired and the newbie is panicking I step in and tell them legally they can't fire you for not getting them. Which is true but this is a scare tactic that the managers at my store use to get the store and them more money so they can have the most cards. The amount of passive aggressive notes in the back are also problematic but that is for another time. In retail you deal with crazy customers you shouldn't also have to deal with toxic managers.
