Cons

Chaos, pure chaos. Most leaders are micro managers. Fishtailing company priorities, short term thinking wins over long term strategy. Employees disappear from the roster regularly, 50% of workforce has less than 2 years of experience with the company.

Pros

Oldcastle Infrastructure is part of CRH and is a very solid organization with part of a huge worldwide footprint. Pay is generally competitive and the benefits package is better than most. If you are young and looking for a place to get started this is a good place to get experience. Management does a good job sharing business results on a regular basis.

Cons

Oldcastle used to be a place where people stayed for their entire careers. That is no longer true. A culture of fear is pushed down from the top. Layoffs are common now. Executive leadership has turned over almost half the company since 2017. Locations close, lives are disrupted, older employees 'retire' before they really want to and all employees are walking on eggshells wondering how safe their jobs are. Form is much more important than function and buzzwords abound. People who share an opinion contrary to management are often terminated. If you are looking for a long term stable opportunity this might not be the place for you. Profit sharing has also been phased out.

Lots of OT and along with good pay. Most employees are really nice and helpful.

Cons

Unprofessional management, the company is numbers driven, so its a dog eats dog atmosphere. You have employees jumping in and out of boxes stealing work to get their numbers in. The system they work in is not AP friendly, it does not allow you to fix or edit anything. All mistakes must be corrected by the warehouse it came from. Management has very little knowledge on the system their using and the system is always having some type if issue.
