Pros

- Challenging - Senior client exposure - Geeky colleagues - International firm and lots of opportunity to travel, as well as work with international teams - Great career progression - Frequent feedback and tips to improve performance - Flat structure - Good salary and bonuses, particularly in the first few years

Cons

- Very stressful - Terrible work hours - Need to be ready to fly out anytime -- hence, cannot plan weekends easily - Projects can last a few weeks where you do not go home

Pros

- Leading Financial services practice, with high profile industry changing projects - Down to earth, collegial atmosphere with an appreciation for diversity - Good benefits and pension - Opportunities within other parts of the Oliver Wyman and Marsh McLennan group

Cons

- Traditionally a conglomorate of firms with different cultures and ways of operating - these make collaboration difficult (but that is changing with ambitious top down initiatives to become one firm) - Brand is probably still understated and less recognized especially outside of financial services sector

Pros

Really entrepreneurial, so you can still "get something done" if you have a good idea and some dedication. You get paid very well, and the whole group of people from consultants to partners is incredibly intelligent. The culture of learning on the job gets everyone involved, and pulls you up in terms of capabilities.

Cons

Often end up specialising too early, so get less of the broad industry and strategic background. There are a lot of long projects, that require weekly travel. It becomes the norm to be shuttling back and forth (Monday to Thursday) from the client location. Demands on time can be extreme, especially when you are away from home so often and are being asked to contribute to firm-wide activities on the side.
