Pros

Excellent work/life balance. Fair compensation and strong benefits structure. High bar for internal company culture and external patient care. Always working to transform/improve, never satisfied with "status quo". Truly a different take on the traditional primary care model. As a physician assistant, I am well supported, but don't feel like I am held under the thumb of the traditional hierarchical model of care. I make decisions autonomously and don't need to constantly report back to a supervising physician, though they are available for review of medical decisions or to take more complicated patients that are out of my scope of practice. All opinions and input is openly accepted and heard from the front desk, administrative, and provider perspectives. Great people, highly intelligent and talented. Few if any weak links in the group.

Cons

Internal EMR is still in development and needs work to fit the needs of day-to-day practice, but is always in process of improvement. Occasional difficulty in management of patient care for those more transient patients (frequent travelers to other regions with One Medical Group offices). The concept of a "primary care practitioner" is occasionally lost on patients who end up rarely seeing the same provider in follow up because they prefer immediate appointments (first available) over continuity of their care (sticking with same provider).

Pros

Tom (the CEO) has a very clear vision of how One Medical can serve as a new model for sustainable, patient-centered primary care, and has built a fantastic infrastructure to allow providers to actually practice medicine and build relationships with their patients. It's a fast-paced, fun work environment where the systems and management are responsive and nimble. There are lots of opportunities for promotion and career development, and the compensation is competitive for the area.

Cons

Primary care is intrinsically a demanding field. While providing many levels of support to allow the providers to have work/life balance and spend their time actually working with their patients, it's still challenging.

Pros

The people make this place!! Great personalities and truly caring individuals that want to see change in a broken healthcare system. A great place to break into the healthcare field.

Cons

Compensation and Benefits are serioulsy lacking considering the cities OMG is in, and the high quality of work expected and produced- low starting pay, no merit based raises, no 401K matching, no stock options, and very little room for advancement.
