Pros

The majority of the pupils are well behaved. They hold musical days once or twice a year. Once every half term there is a ‘Well-being Wednesday’ when the pupils leave at 2pm and so do the staff.

Cons

It’s a global school, which is okay but there is too much interference from Head Office. The schools were run locally with the trustees being in charge but now EVERYTHING has to be the same in every campus and since the company was TUPEd the morale in the school has fallen dramatically plus a recent change in leadership has made the campus a very unhappy place to be. Lots of staff have left in the past year.

Pros

Wellbeing Wednesday. Some staff and students. Stationery cupboard accessible at all times!

Cons

Run by the 'Brethren' mafia and those under their influence. Classes run on a VLE system with all resources vetted. Zoom and face-to -face teaching and any of these classes could be taken away without you being given a reason. Incredibly poor human resources structure with forced and contrived 'Teacher Recognition' feature each morning in the Lean Meetings. Poor instruction and training for new teachers, leaving much to decipher on your own and some training given weeks after the so-called induction. All lessons are double ones that last 1 hour 40 minutes, routinely given 'inadequate' by regional principles based on 2 minute observations, culminating in the disincentivisation of staff with demoralising feedback from 20-something and brainwashed line-managers. The students hold sway with the hiring and firing. If they want you gone, you will be. After they tell their parents of course, whose sensibilities you will have outraged for something you won't even be made aware of. If you pop out for food at lunch time for example in another staff member's car (who happens to be of a different gender), it appears you will be let go, with them citing a 'parental complaint' as the reason. Nothing else. However many times you ask for the reason. Unethical to say the least. Staff turnover is therefore high. Shockingly so. But, if you fancy joining a closed community of cloned and bigoted thinkers (not including most staff here) where you can feel disrespected, discouraged and disheartened, then do apply. No need to hurry though - there will always be vacancies!
